The Kayak Center at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is open to the public and rents kayaks, canoes, or stand up paddleboards. Great place to rent a kayak or canoe from. Its so nice and peaceful kayaking on the Merrimack River. The staff has been great every time. If it's your first time, the staff will go over some helpful tips before you head out. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

We tried pedal boarding here for the first time. We had a great time. The staff is very friendly and polite. The area is beautiful, the water is clean, but the road is quite close so sometimes it is noisy. Because they work until 8pm you can see the sunset on the water. It was beautiful!

It costs $20 per hour for a single kayak and $35 per hour for a tandem. The staff is consistently attentive and helpful, ensuring all your needs are met. Renting a kayak and signing the waiver is straightforward, with no hidden fees. They also offer thorough instructions for first-time kayakers. I have always enjoyed my time kayaking at this place, it’s safe and easy for all levels of kayakers.

I recommended paying up front if you can because staff asks you to use your phone and pay via credit card from your phone even if you're standing in front of them. Staff are friendly hourly-paid students. Nice kayaks and canoes. Clean river. I would come here again.

My boyfriend and I have been wanting check out this place for a while now. The weather was perfect and the water was calm today. Making reservations over the phone is still unavailable so just head on there, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Did 2&1/2 out of our 3hr reservation and I’m popped! There’s actually a lot to explore along the Merrimack, I was pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed it. Would highly recommend, especially for the price point.
